Making the most of our Food:

UKHarvest are a non-profit organisation, based in Chichester, but covering a large part of the South East. Here is some information and photos from their website.

UKHarvest’s mission is to make a difference in two important areas:

to cut food waste – and provide nutritious food for people who are struggling with the cost of living.

Community Food Hubs

Fill up your bag with fresh fruit and vegetables, cereal and other store cupboard items – all for a voluntary contribution of £3.50 (in 2022).  Open to all. Noone will be turned away.

Community Food Hubs are usually open either  weekly or every two weeks.

UKHarvest run several food hubs locally.

Chichester area: Parklands, Charles Avenue, Whyke, Graylingwell

Surrounding area: Midhurst, Tangmere, Oving, Selsey, East Wittering

Chichester Farmers market

If you find the  stand at Chichester Farmers’ Market, you can get some tips to help you reduce household food waste, save money and cook delicious meals. They often have herbs, kindly donated by Vitacress, and rescued produce for you to take.

Cookalongs and Food Clubs

Free cooking demos of thrifty and healthy meals- either online or at a local event. Also Food Clubs teaching cooking to children aged 8-14.
